Las Cruxes

Housed within the cozy collective of Farewell Books, Las Cruxes adds to the warmth created by coffee, books and art. Through its careful curation, the concept store and gallery tells the story of a world traveller with a creative soul and a big heart. Veronica, one of the few female Mexican-American business owners in Austin, lived a thousand lives before Las Cruxes’ creation. She side-stepped from the life of a touring musician into entrepreneurial clothing design and reconstruction, selling pieces on Etsy in an effort to support herself while attending school in Portland, and ultimately garnering enough funds to get Las Cruxes going. Her beautiful collections displayed with simplicity and ease includes a plethora of eclectic bohemian pieces alongside found objects, vintage records and apothecary products. You can feel the hard work and gracious thought that has gone into the creation of this inclusive community of inspiration. Unlike most Austin businesses, the collective that Las Cruxes is a part of has had no financial backing and this translates, in the most positive way possible, into the atmosphere and aesthetic of the space.
