8. Josefstadt
The Eighth District is Vienna's smallest, barely over one square kilometer in size. Situated just a stone's throw from both the Universität Wien, City Hall, and the Parliament, Josefstadt has traditionally been a home to academics and bureaucrats. Its most famous cultural institution is the Theater an der Josefstadt, where the likes of Beethoven and Wagner once raised the conductor's baton.
