Marcia Ceppos has been working at Tinsel Trading Co., which her grandfather opened in 1933, since she was eight years old. When we asked why she was initially drawn to textiles and trimmings, her answer was that they’re simply addictive. One visit to Tinsel Trading and you may be hooked yourself. The Old World European-styled shop stocks unique ribbons, threads, and tassels, along with a myriad of other materials for crafting and embellishing gifts, some of which are designed by Ceppos and her employees using inspiration provided by the archive of her grandfather’s original inventory. More recently, Ceppos has added seasonal and gift items to the shop and forged a partnership with Wendy Addison, a premier designer in the gift industry. Addison designs a charming line of gifts for Tinsel Trading, including items for weddings and anniversaries. Stopping by during the holiday season is a must, but there are more than enough beautiful things here to inspire you the whole year through.
