Those willing to stray from the well-trodden path of the Riera Baixa will be rewarded when they stumble upon Wilde, a tiny shop with a big-time assortment of vintage sunglasses. Opened in 2008 by Cao from Manchester and Teppei from Japan, this much talked about Raval locale features original, unused shades dating from 1950 to 1990. Prior to opening his store, Teppei and Carlos were dedicated vintage collectors for many years, scouring markets the world over in search of unique pieces of high-quality eyewear. Eventually, they decided to share their collections with other eyeglass enthusiasts; Wilde was born. The shop carries old school models from name brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Carrera, Ray Ban, Cazal, Bollé and Balenciaga, as well as innovative new designs from Shwood (wooden frames!) and Bob Sdrunk. Since 2010, Wilde has produced its own store brand, with sunglasses designed by none other than Teppei and Cao themselves. Even if you think you've already got the coolest shades on the block, Wilde might still be worth your while, as they sometimes carry a few other second-hand accessories.
